This unit has an open-front design that allows it to get closer to walls and corners than the older round designs. However, keep in mind that this model isn't able to work well with shag or high-pile carpeting.

In our tests, we observed that the iRobot S9+ cleaned thoroughly and efficiently a variety of floor surfaces including medium and hard carpets. It also worked well with vinyl flooring, and laminate floors. It did a great job of navigating furniture and other objects, but it did have some issues with stairs where it might accidentally hit bookcases.

We liked the fact that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its dust bin once it's full, Eufy robot vacuum and mop which significantly minimizes the need to be hands-on with maintenance. The dust bin should last for around 30 loads, which is about two months and you'll need to replace the filter every once every few months (which is actually recommended by iRobot). We've found that the iRobot S9+ doesn't get loud during operation and is a great option for those living with kids or pets.

The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is a complete vacuum and mopping machine which makes it a great choice for those in a house with multiple floors. The vacuum's 0.6l bin can hold a large amount of pet hair. Dual motors give an impressive amount of cleaning power. The dustbin can be removed and emptied without fuss this is important because you'll need to clean it frequently.

It's also easy to set it up, though I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the first time. Install the eufy Robot Vacuum and Mop Home application and follow the directions to connect it to your WiFi network. Once you've done that the app will help you to create a detailed map of your home. You can label rooms or divide large spaces into smaller rooms (good for open-plan living) and direct the X8 Hybrid to specific areas that need cleaning at a specific time. Many other robots have similar mapping and scanning functions, but Eufy's app is more refined and user-friendly than other models.

The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can control the mop or vacuum through voice thanks to the integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a nice feature that makes the robot more hands-free. It was a success in our test house.

Like many robotic vacuums, the X8 Hybrid has some issues with bare floors. It is prone to miss fur and other small objects, and tends to bump things, such as its charger on the charging platform. It's not as quiet and the whirring sound could be distracting as with other models.

Roborock V3S Pro

This model isn't as feature-rich as some of the more expensive models we tested, but it has all the basics. It has a huge enough dust bin that can hold plenty of dirt before it's empty, and its vacuum and mop system works great on both hard floors and low-pile carpets. It's also extremely quiet. We could watch TV while it cleaned without feeling like we were being constantly bombarded by the sound.

Our test subjects were extremely impressed by how simple the machine was to use and set up. They also loved its ability to remove all the mess from their flooring. It even did a pretty excellent job of removing pet hair and other messes that get on carpeting, but it wasn't as successful in tackling stubborn stuck-on staining. They found the app user-friendly and intuitive, and were able to program the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to cut down on the amount they had to manually do. The only drawback is that it does not have any mapping technology or object avoidance technology, so you aren't able to send it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips are compatible).

Another model from irobot vacuum and mop's affordable line that is the V3S Pro has some impressive features for the price. It was the most efficient robot vacuum we tested for mapping and avoiding obstacles. It's also the best budget option for those who want a smarter, self-emptying robotic vacuum that can handle pet messes and hair on hardwood floors and carpets with low pile. It's also very quiet and comes with a massive dust bin that can hold plenty of debris prior to when it has to empty and you don't have to worry about regularly emptying it.

Although the V3S Pro didn't earn a place in any of our top choices compilations from reliable sources that carry out hands-on testing, it still got high marks from reviewers at Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. The V3S Pro was easy to use and set up, but the battery life was a bit short.

Roborock took its time in creating this clever cleaner. The result is that the product is exceptionally solid and feels like it was built with top materials. The base is sturdy and solid, with the charging port built into the battery. You'll find the docking station for the tank that is clean and the bins for dirty water on top. Below, you'll find an enclosure that houses the vacuum bag sealed.

Once you pair your device with the app, you'll see an interactive map of your home. It will show the exact location where your robot is in and the area it's cleaning. You can also create virtual barriers to keep your robot out of certain areas or only clean certain types of flooring. It can also alter its power settings according to the kind of floor being cleaned and choose the most effective cleaning method.

The Q Revo is unlike many other robot vacuum cleaner with mop vacuums due to the fact that it can raise both mop heads while vacuuming. This prevents carpet fibres from being stained. It's one of the few vacuums that can do this.
