This wet/dry model comes with the upgraded AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system from Ecovacs, which provides improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. It uses dual laser LiDAR that is similar to that used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan up to 32 feet across by the 270-degree angle. That translates into more precise mapping, faster response times, and better cleaning accuracy.

It also has a rotating mopping pad constructed of chenille fabric. This makes it easier to scrub tough spots as opposed to traditional mop. During my testing, the X2 Omni took just over an hour to clean its pad before getting to work. I also noticed that it was much more accurate than the previous models, which seemed to follow a gridded route around rooms. It was capable of navigating my room's with its corners and edges and also create a "Zambani pattern" up and down the center of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station regularly to empty the dust bin and clean the mop using hot water before starting another task of cleaning.

The X2 Omni is just as simple to use and set up as other Ecovacs products. Place the dock in its place, plug it in and pair it with your WiFi network at home. It takes just about a minute. Then, you can start the app and get started with your first task of cleaning. I was able to modify my floor plan within 15 minutes. This included creating limited areas for sweeping and mopping, reworking the placement of furniture on the wall and much more. The X2 Omni was impressive during my tests. It scored high in the areas of pet hair removal and debris removal, and also achieved near-perfect results in crevices and edge cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The EcoVACS T10 Omni is a powerful vacuum and mopping machine. It is the most advanced of the brand's T-line and features the brand's new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that utilizes dual-spinning brushes to provide better cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbers. It also has YIKO, a natural language processing technology that is the first of its kind. It can respond to various voice commands. You can use the ECOVACS app to map your home, create cleaning schedules and adjust settings.

The main flaw of the T10 Omni is that it can't switch from mopping and vacuuming in a single operation. The T10 Omni comes with two modes that require you to attach and remove mop heads in accordance with your needs. This is great for most households, but not so for those with busy lives.

The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that delivers impressive results. It was able to remove more than 96% of debris from our hardwood flooring. This is a remarkable performance. It did an excellent job on tiles and carpets, removing 99% of dirt.

This robot automatic vacuum for pet hair and mops has a large docking system that lets you clean the mop pads automatically using cool water for the mop pads. It also has an auto-emptying 3L bag which is easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more often between mopping sessions.

The Deebot T10 comes with a wash tray that is built into its base, similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to wash and dry the mop pads while it is using them. But it doesn't use an open tray, meaning that dirty water, dust and other grime slowly accumulates in the bottom of the tray over time.

While Anker-owned Eufy is well known in the robot vacuum space, this model is its first venture into the world of mopping. It has upgraded smarts, multiple maps support and LIDAR scanning, as well as twin-turbine suction technology that automatically adapts to the surface you're cleaning. It's a mid-range robotic cleaner that's stylish even if the promise of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning does not come true.

This robot was very successful in our tests of hardwood floors and food particles. It ate everything, from one rice grain to a variety of dog food pieces with only one swipe. It had some difficulty transitioning to carpets, however, in general, this vacuum cleaner is ideal for rooms that have different flooring types and a variety of pets.

It is a bit pricey, but if you can manage the price, it's a great purchase for those who wish to be able to leave their homes completely free to perform other tasks or complete chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning feature that increases suction to take on the most difficult spills or dirt. It also comes with a battery powered ElectroWall to establish boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly choice from a popular upstart brand is the cheapest robot we've tested yet and offers an exceptional value for the cost. Its basic navigation system uses a super-basic random pathing algorithm, but it doesn't have room mapping capabilities, which makes it less efficient than the other models on this list. It's still able to navigate under furniture and in the corners. Mopping mode was very effective in our tests, picking up stray hair and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as sturdy, but it is better in cleaning pet hair off all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning carpets with low piles and floor surfaces that are bare. It also makes use of intelligent-pathing navigational software to improve mobility. It also lets you assign it to a specific room, and its sophisticated suite of automation features includes no-go zones and scheduling. It can even pause and resume cleaning sessions and is perfect for households with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent tangles and can carry up to 30 days of dirt. It has a set angled side brushes to reach into corners and robot vacuum mops a multi-stage filter system that collects dust, allergens, and dander.

This vacuum feels solid and well-built. It has a smartphone app that lets you change the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning times in advance. The app also allows you to view the iQ's remaining battery life and send notifications via push for any issues it encounters during a cleaning session. You can utilize your voice to control the device using an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device, and if you don't have either of those devices, you can mark areas with physical boundary strips.
